Check the fingerprint before installing

The SHA-256 fingerprint identifies the file byte by byte. If the one for the file you downloaded is not exactly the one on this page, it is not the file that was published.

  1. Download the file and do not install it yet.
  2. Compute its SHA-256. On Linux: sha256sum rebelde.apk. On macOS: shasum -a 256 rebelde.apk. On Windows: certutil -hashfile rebelde.apk SHA256.
  3. Compare the result with the fingerprint on this page, group by group. A single different character is enough to discard it.

How to install

  1. Open the downloaded file from the notification or from your downloads folder.
  2. If Android asks, allow installing from this source. It is the only way to install an app that does not come from a store.
  3. To pass it on, share the same file over Bluetooth: no internet is needed for that either.

What you need

  • A phone running Android 8.0 or later.
  • A SIM with credit for SMS and carrier coverage.
  • Nothing else: no account, no internet, nobody's permission.

The address /rebelde.apk always points to the latest release. Each release also has its own address, which is the one to cite when the exact version matters:

Older releases are not kept: when a new one ships, the previous one stops being served and its fingerprint stops being valid.
